Welcome to Broad Run Baptist Church
Helping your family live their best life in Christ Jesus
Welcome to Broad Run
Nestled among the West Virginia hills on the outskirts on Jane Lew, Broad Run Baptist Church sits on a knoll overlooking the surrounding community. For over 200 years, Broad Run has been a staple in the local area. With humble beginnings of meeting in congregant houses to the now modern facilities, the church has been resilient through the good and hard times.
Whether you’re new to the area, just visiting, or looking for a permanent church home, we invite you to come check out Broad Run. One thing we consistently hear from visitors is that they can “feel the love” as soon as they walk through the doors, and we know you’ll feel the same. Our website will provide information to help you plan your visit but if you need more information, feel free to Contact Us.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is worship like?
Broad Run follows a traditional format for worship services. All attendees can receive a bulletin to assist in following along and hymnals, song books, and/or over-head projection is used to provide song lyrics to sing along with our pianist and organist.
If you cannot make it to in-person worship, we welcome you to join us online by clicking here.
I have children. How does worship work for us?
We gladly welcome children to our worship services and sunday school classes. A nursery is available for children aged birth to 3.
How should we dress for worship?
Our congregants wear a mix from casual to their Sunday best! Please wear whatever you’re most comfortable with!
During Communion what should I do?
Broad Run serves open communion to born again believers; meaning that if you have accepted Jesus, you are more than welcome to participate no matter your denomination.
Communion is serviced quarterly and is passed to attendees while seated. As communion is a symbolic ceremony, we serve juice as opposed to wine.
Following communion, the congregation stands, forms a circle while holding hands, and sings “Blessed be the ties that binds”
Do we need to give an offering? How does that work?
Contributions to tithes and offering are not required but we do have three methods to contribute if you feel led.
1) physically during the service. About half-way through the service, and offering plate is passed among attendees. We accept cash or check and envelopes are available on the back of each pew for tax receipt purposed. Following the offering, attendees stand to sing the doxology (hymn @xx).
2) online at the following link.
3) By mail. Please mail your check to Broad Run Baptist Church. PO Box 542 Jane Lew, WV 26378
